Central Perk is Coming to SoHo to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of ‘Friends!’

Who would ever forget the iconic Central Perk in “Friends?” As much as we want to deliver some amazing news to you that they’re coming back, we just can’t because it’s not happening, but we do have some good news that will make you feel closer to your favorite character the hit comedy series.

According to Yahoo, Central Perk was nestled in the busy streets of SoHo neighborhood and its been 20 years since “Friends” premiered. Warner Bros. Entertainment, the show’s producer, along with Eight O’ Clock Coffee decided to put together a replica of the fictional café in SoHo, NYC.

To make it even better, before you plan on sitting on that iconic couch that our favorite characters used to sit it, the pop-up replica will be giving away free coffee and also there here will also be some “Friends” related performances and giveaways. It was also reported that people are given the chance of a lifetime to take their own selfie while seated on the iconic orange couch used in the sitcom.

There is still no news that the original “Friends” main cast members would appear, however,  James Michael Tyler will make a special appearance as the irritable barista Gunther.

Don’t worry because the pop-up Central Perk will be available for a month! Watch out for it as it opens on September 17, 2014 and it will close on October 18, 2014. Be sure not to miss it because you never know, Jennifer Aniston might just walk by and get her free cup of coffee and even have a chat with Gunther, or maybe Lisa Kudrow can perform her rendition of “Smelly Cat” one more time? Ah, wishful thinking but we’re keeping our fingers crossed on this one!
