Charlize Theron to Play Spy in ‘The Coldest City’
According to Business Standard, Academy Award winner for her role in “Sweet November,” Charlize Theron is all set to play spy in the new spy thriller “The Coldest City.” Looks like her role in “Mad Max: Fury Road” won’t be her only role as badass. Read on.
The spy thriller project will be by Focus Features and the script will be by Kurt Johnstad popular for famous screenplay in “300” and “300: Rise of an Empire.” The directorial team of David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, who amazed everyone with their work in “John Wick” and is also working on “John Wick 2,” will be diverting their attention on the spy thriller “The Coldest City.” The movie will be undergoing production in Germany by October this year.
“The Coldest City” is based on Antony Johnson graphic novel with the same name. The movie will have the 39-year-old actress to play super spy in a timeline that takes place two weeks before the Berlin Wall came down. Her spy character is sent into service when and after an MI6 agent gets killed. The plot has that super spy (Theron) to find that list. It killed officer was supposed to smuggle to the West before getting in the hands of the enemy. But the twist takes place when the spies start to lookout just for their own country.
The graphic novel has the spy name as Lorraine Broughton with no prior ties with Berlin, where the whole story is set up.
Meanwhile, Theron is filming her role as Ravenna in “Snowwhite And The Huntsman.” She has recently only revealed that she will be marrying her partner, Sean Penn on her 40th birthday, mostly the venue is going to be South Africa. Theron is also producing a project by Focus Features which has a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad.
