The Weinstein Company has released a new trailer of Vampire Academy, a movie directed by Mark Waters.

The film is based on the bestselling series by Richelle Mead and stars Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky, Gabriel Byrne, Sarah Hyland, Joely Richardson, Cameron Monaghan, Sami Gayle, Claire Foy and Ashley Charles.

The story follows two 17-year-old girls, Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch) and Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry), who attend a hidden boarding school for Moroi (mortal Vampires) and Dhampirs (half-vampire/half-human guardians). Lissa Dragomir is a royal member of an ancient race while her friend, Rose, is a rebellious Guardian-in-training who has been sworn to protect the royal bloodline with her life.

The girls have been on the run when they are captured and returned to St.Vladamirs Academy, the place where they feel themselves to be in real danger. Being in the perils of Moroi Society and high school, Lissa struggles to reclaim her status as a royal vampire Princess whereas Rose trains with her mentor as well as her love-interest, Dimitri (Danila Kozlovsky), to guarantee her place as Lissa’s guardian.

And then there are those who intend to exploit Lissa from within the Academy walls, and the Strigoi (immortal vampires) who are ready to hunt her from outside the safe zone. But Rose won’t hesitate to sacrifice her life to protect Lissa from her enemies.

Vampire Academy is set to release on February 14, 2014.
