Chicago Fire Spoilers: Casey’s Fate and Relationship with Gabby Teased; New Woes and Love Interest for Severide
In a surprise twist, the “mother” show from which “Chicago Med” and “Chicago PD” spin off from will be premiering on Oct. 15, 2015, after “Chicago PD” premieres on Sept. 30, 2015. However, despite that, the upcoming fourth season of “Chicago Fire” promises to be just as interesting, and even more interesting, than before, with new complications, new love interests, new faces, and with the answer that “Chicago Fire” fans and viewers have been wondering about since the third season finale- where, oh, where is Lieutenant Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer)? WARNING: This article contains spoilers for the upcoming fourth season of NBC’s “Chicago Fire”. Read on only to learn more about what to expect in the upcoming season in terms of complications, storylines, and new faces that will be arriving at Firehouse 51.
When fans and viewers last left the dedicated firefighters and paramedics of Firehouse 51, Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett) left, and the house welcomed Dora “Chili” Chilton (Dora Madison) as their new paramedic, alongside Sylvie Brett (Kara Kilmer).
In the final moments of the season, Firefighter Candidate Gabriela “Gabby” Dawson (Monica Raymund) realized that she was pregnant with her ex-fiance’s, Lieutenant Matt Casey’s (Jesse Spencer). However, when she rushed to his apartment to tell him the news, she discovered the apartment in disarray. It was as if there had been a struggle inside and a stripper named Katia (Izabella Miko) dead on the floor. To make matters worse, Gabby couldn’t find Casey, who was most probably snatched by Jack Nesbitt (Eric Mabius), an ex-firefighter whom Casey was working with and whom he was investigating alongside the members of “Chicago PD.”
Casey’s fate hasn’t yet been revealed or hinted at, but it seems like he will be coming back. TV Guide’s Preview for this fall’s returning television shows hints that Gabby and Casey will come to a decision as to what their next steps will be in terms of their relationship, and with regards to how the coming baby will impact their lives.
Aside from this, Entertainment Weekly’s Spoiler Room has teased that this storyline will have a quick resolution. Gabby will no longer be part of Truck 81 as she will be helping out with the Arson Squad by the second episode.
More drama, according to TV Guide’s Preview, will be heading Lieutenant Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) way when the brass begins to question his leadership skills, which will end up in him getting demoted. Plus, it seems like Severide’s usual charm will not be working on the new captain. The character will be portrayed by actor Brian White, which will cause him to reflect more on his career and future.
Aside from this, Severide, who has always had luck with the ladies, will be getting a new love interest, who, according to TV Guide, will be portrayed by actress Rachel Nichol. He will meet her while taking an “obligatory” “manager trainee course” due to his demotion. However, things with Nichols’ character will get a little bit complicated, as her character was sent there as she is a “problem employee” at her law firm.
Now, what does this mean for Severide’s last lady, April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), who will be appearing on “Chicago Med”, and who had a very brief fling with her childhood best friend before departing to travel the world for a while? Executive Producer Matt Olmstead informed TV Guide that they slept together just to see what would happen if they ever did get together and called it the “culmination of a longtime friendship”.
Do you think Severide will leave Firehouse 51? How do you think his love life, once again, will affect his career? What do you think happened to Casey? Do you think he will get back together with Gabby? What do you think about Gabby’s reassignment and the new captain? Let us know your theories and thoughts in the comments below!
