Child Molestation Details Emerge as ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ Gets Cancelled

A police report detailing Anna Cardwell's child molestation case has been leaked to the media. The document, which was filed in March 2003 at the Spalding County Sheriff's Office, responding officer Bauch wrote that it was Cardwell's elementary school teacher who alerted the authorities. Read on for further details.

During an interview with the police officer, Cardwell, who was then eight years old, said “she had done the ‘s word’ with Mark [McDaniel].” (via Huffington Post)

Following the report, McDaniel was charged with “rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated sexual battery.” He served 10 years in prison and was released last year. However, he has been registered as a sex offender in the state of Georgia.

McDaniel was dating Cardwell's mother, June Shannon, at the time. Cardwell said that Shannon did not immediately believe her claims.

“I think me and Mama’s relationship may well be over,” she told Radar upon learning that her mother is seeing her abuser again.

The family starred in a reality show called “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which revolved around Shannon's youngest daughter, Alana. Alana, 9, also appeared in “Toddlers and Tiaras,” a show about toddlers in the beauty pageant circuit.

The family's troubles began when rumors that Shannon rekindled her relationship with McDaniel emerged in the media. The two were photographed partying with friends in a hotel room and house hunting in Hampton. Shannon also reportedly bought McDaniel a car.

Upon hearing the reports, TLC cancelled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” in effect cutting off the family biggest source of income.

“Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being,” the network said in a statement.

Alana's father, David Michael Thompson, is seeking full custody of his young daughters, following reports that McDaniel has come into contact with the child. Alana has been photographed with McDaniel in Shannon's hotel room.

Family members have also started feuding on social media. Another one of Shannon's daughters, Pumpkin, lashed out at her uncle, Lee Thompson, alleging that he was selling stories about the family to the tabloids.
