Chris Hemsworth Will Only Be Joined by Two Dwarves in ‘The Huntsman’ Spinoff

Sometime last year, Universal announced the comeback of Chris Hemsworth as the fair but wild Huntsman in the origin story spinoff of “Snow White and the Huntsman” — “The Huntsman.” But on this one, he will not be joined by Snow White and five of her dwarves. Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.

Hemsworth has been gracing the big screen a whole lot in the earlier streak of this year as he starred in the crime, action drama “Black Hat” and adventure drama “In the Heart of the Sea.” He will also return as the hammer-wielding superhero in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” But it would appear that the big screens will continue to see more of him as he goes through Universal’s production for “Snow White and the Huntsman” spinoff, “The Huntsman,” and details are suggesting that he will not be joined by Snow White star Kirsten Stewart and five of her seven dwarves.

According to Slash Film, there’s been an issued speculation that not only will Stewart be bowing out of the spinoff, so will five of her trusty, loving dwarves. It’s been speculated that only two out of the seven will be featured in “The Huntsman” origin story. This is basically what’s expected in the plot in the upcoming medium.

Speaking in terms of availability, the 2012 flick originally had the seven dwarves played by Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Johnny Harris, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Ray Winstone, Nick Frost and Brian Gleeson. With the subject of availability being the prime concern, Hoskins has already met with his Maker as he finally rests in peace, while Marsan could no longer do it as his scheduling is already tight with his “Ray Donovan.” There’s also the issue of Frost and Jones not wanting to make a return. Talk about missing people, it all then boils down to either McShane, Harris or Gleeson returning to complete the casting of the duo.

“The Huntsman” will be under the direction of Cedric Nicolas-Troyan as they continue to follow the script  that was developed by previous helmsman Frank Darabont. The movie actually dates before Snow White with Eric the Hunstman (Hemsworth) and Ravenna the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) facing a different villain character who is speculated to be Ravenna’s sister (rumored to be played by Emily Blunt).

“The Huntsman” is slated to arrive in theaters on April 22, 2016.

That concludes our feature on “The Huntsman” only featuring two dwarves. Continue to visit Movie News Guide (MNG) for more news on upcoming films, popular celebrities and ongoing TV shows.
