Christopher McQuarrie Returns For ‘Mission: Impossible 6’?
Christopher McQuarrie is back once more to direct, write, and produce the next “Mission: Impossible” movie with who else but our dear actor Tom Cruise. This recent move has earned him the unique distinction of becoming the only director to date to return for a second time in the history of a movie franchise. This is indeed a great feat for McQuarrie, for sure.
Hollywood Reporter recently said that the director was at the helm of the blockbuster successful movie “Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation”. The movie was released in the beginning of this year. So it was indeed happy news to know that Mcquarrie has now signed up to be at the helm of affairs for the movie “Mission: Impossible 6”.
The director too had recently confirmed that he would be involved in the making of the latest movie from the franchise. His tweet was vague as he wrote on November 30, saying “Mission: Accepted #MI6″
But Christopher McQuarrie did not confirm whether he would be returning in the capacity of a scriptwriter, a director, or both.
“Mission: Impossible 6″, the temporary title of the next franchise movie will be the third time when actor Tom Cruise will collaborate with McQuarrie.
Just like “Rogue Nation”, he also directed and wrote for the movie “Jack Reacher” that was released in 2012.
Tom Cruise, 53 had revealed early this year that he would be joining the league for the sixth time in the franchise. The actor had acted for the first time as Agent Ethan Hunt in the movie “Mission: Impossible” that was released in 1996.
The production of “Mission: Impossible 6” is anticipated to start its production in August next year, though the date might change. While Cruise returns as Agent Ethan Hunt, there is a high probability that a few old faces such as Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner, Ale Baldwin, and Paula Patton might return in the new production.
Here is wishing Christopher McQuarrie all the best for the new movie from all of us at MNG.
