Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Jamal Crawford Could Join Cavs, Philadelphia 76ers Is Likely To Absorb J R Smith of Cavs
It seems like the link between Cleveland-based American professional basketball team, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Jamal Crawford is reignited once again. Read below to get a scoop of it.
Sports World Report (SWR) has stated that there is an ample hint for Cleveland Cavaliers aka Cavs to offer a trade for Crawford this summer as the team member of Los Angeles Clippers is said to be ready to play for the Cavs. And if the rumored contract is turned into reality, Crawford’s contribution for the Los Angeles Clippers will certainly diminish in this season.
Although Crawford’s name came up with other renowned basketball players like Kevin Martin (of Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association or NBA) and Nick Young (of Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA) to sign a deal with the Cavs earlier in the offseason, but the trade was reportedly not moved forward.
Earlier, a proposal was put on the table for Crawford and Brendan Haywood, who last played for Cavs of the NBA between 2014 and 2015, but Haywood was later dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers (also known as Blazers).
“I know Jamal Crawford personally, and I know he would definitely like to be a part of the Cavaliers’ organization. Jamal is one guy off the top of my head that I know would be a fit, and I know that they’ll be looking at him,” Cavs beat reporter Chris Haynes said, as reported by Yibada.
A buzz is in the air that in parallel to Crawford’s contract with the Cavs, J R Smith’s ongoing contract (with the Cavs since Jan. 5, 2015) is likely to be ended as many NBA insiders expect him to resign with the Cavs. However, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports, only Philadelphia 76ers has expressed interest for Smith.
