Andre, Big Boi Amped their OutKast Reunion with Janelle Monae and Future
In the height of their musical careers, Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000) and Antwan Patton (Big Boi) were known as the music duo OutKast since 1992. Some of OutKast’s hits include “Hey Ya!,” “B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)” and “Ms. Jackson.”
According to Billboard, the latest Coachella festival is the official reunion of Andre and Big Boi after a seven year rest. They were joined by “Honest” rapper Future and the R&B artist Janelle Monae in their Coachella performance.
Girl Powwwer!: Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Solange and Beyonce
Fresh from her major wins at the 2014 Grammys, the 17-year old Lorde performed “Royals,” “Glory and Gore,” “Million Dollar Bills” and “Tennis Court” on her debut at Coachella 2014. Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey is indeed a crowd-favorite for playing her hits “Body Electric” and “Summertime Sadness.” As for Beyonce, she doesn’t even need to sing to prove that she’s one of the weekend’s biggest guest stars. Billboard reported that the “Love On Top” singer danced onstage as her younger sister Solange played her set.
Pharrell, His Guest Stars and THE Hat
After the release of his anthem hits and Grammy wins, 2014 is definitely the year of Pharrell. The 2014 Grammy’s Producer of the Year joined the desert bash along with his infamous Vivienne Westwood hat. Billboard stated that he performed with several artists and their hits including Nelly, Tyler the Creator, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Diplo and the “Hollaback Girl” singer Gwen Stefani.
Nirvana Gets The Desert Tribute From Muse
According to Billboard, the Symphonic rock band Muse had previously headlined Coachella in 2010. This time, they surprised the crowd with their own cover of Nirvana’s “Lithium” in celebration of the iconic trio’s 20th anniversary. They also performed their own notable hits such as “Stockholm Syndrome,” “Knights of Cydonia,” “Starlight” and “Madness.”
