Coldplay Picked For Halftime Show At Super Bowl 50
The National Football League has officially picked up Coldplay as the entertainment for main halftime for Super Bowl 50, according to the latest reports from Wall Street Journal. Sure it is a wonderful thing to be.
According to vox.com, what this means is that we will not get see the thousands of sequins from Jennifer Lopez anymore, the strut about the stage from Rihanna or the “hotline bling” video that is being created by Drake. British dad rock is given the opportunity to sound track the biggest game in American football.
This so called unconventional or conventional choice has not come out with no plan. Rumours for this official announcement started erupting when Coldplay made an announcement previous month that they will put a halt to their new project for A Head Full of Dreams and people started speculating that they are the front runners for this gig.
In news related to this it was described that the new album from the band will not be available immediately on any streaming services or on Spotify. This is an epitome of the marketing strategy employed by Adele when 25 was about to be released and which later turned out to be a major success.
According to hollywoodlife.com, however, there is one question that needs answer from Coldplay as to whether they may enlist for a subsidiary act. For example a collaboration with Beyonce who is a veteran for Super Bowl and who is with them in “Hymn for the Weekend”? They can also collaborate with Gwyneth Paltrow, who is known to perform some sort of random act.
Rest assured it will be all things interesting for one of the biggest sporting event in America. We wish the best for Coldplay.
