Colin Farrell Possibly Starring in True Detective Season 2

In the first season, “True Detective” wowed its viewers when they casted two A-list actors, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, on the first season of the crime drama. Now it seems that they will continue to bring the awe factor into their audiences’ TV sets as speculations suggest that Hollywood star Colin Farrell will be leading the second season. Read on to learn more about this story.

A lot of names were involved in the possible casting of the much-awaited TV series. The names included the hot shot Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain and Taylor Kitsch. However, they are all nothing but rumors, but there’s bound to be a light that sheds in a gray matter. Based on the recent report of Variety, they’ve revealed that Colin Farrell is going through deep negotiations for his prominent casting in “True Detective.” Sparingly, his name is the first that came through after the long-standing rumors of Season 2 lead roles based on internet speculations and less  than accurate rumors.

According to Deadline, there has been no confirmation yet as to who will really be playing what on the series. There are so many names being thrown from here and there with all of its potential castings, but many are confident that Colin Farrell will really be part of the cast one way or another.

The production has not made any further official announcements for the TV show as of late, but HBO is certainly in the works for casting an actor with a big reputation to play the lead role in the next season. Although nothing is set in stone at the moment on the who department, the production did clarify the what and the where. Talented writer of the series Nic Pizzolatto made the confirmation that the second season will be set in the sunny state of California, and it will be centered on at least three main characters.

“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season 1,” said Michael Lombardo, HBO’s President of Programming, in the Variety report.

Without a doubt, there’s certainly an unending swirl of rumors circumnavigating the official casting roles of the successful TV series. The mystery remains to be the same. Nonetheless, once the official casting will be made, such announcement will bring out the element of unexpectedness with a dash of praiseworthy approvals. Farrell may not have been one of the top names that were possibly speculated to play the role, but he appears to be able to shine and embrace the character of an ideal lead for the second season.
