Colin Farrell wrote a breakup letter for his cigarettes! Read what he wrote below.
Way back in 2011, the “True Detective” actor, Farrell told InStyle magazine that he used to smoke 40 sticks a day, but there came a time that he started not enjoying it. So, on his 34th birthday, he spent a day smoking his cigars until 11:55. Then that’s it! Starting that day, he buried his worst habit and kicked in with a healthy lifestyle.
But, though he did tell the magazine that he quit smoking, it’s only now when he revealed the full details about how he was able to do it. And, mind you…it’s really strange yet so unique!
According to Entertainment Tonight, the Irish actor will be on the cover of the September issue of “Men’s Health” and in his interview, he openly talks about his private life as a single man for five years and as a single dad, he also talked about his breakup letter to his tobacco cigarette.
Farrell, in detail, said that he wrote a breakup message to the “Spirit of Tobacco.” After writing, he got a frying pan and chucked the letter in with a load of tobacco cigarettes, he then put some paraffin over it. lit a match which sent a big, wallowing smoke. After that very day, he never had a hold of any single cigarette for years.
Moreover, Telegraph also reported that last February, Farrell admitted that he was really grateful that the “madness” in his life is totally over. He even added that aside from quitting smoking, he hadn’t had a cup of alcohol in eight years.
Adding on, back in December 2005, Farrell was reported to have struggled with addiction to the point where he checked into a rehabilitation treatment to help him stop.
On the other hand, Farrell said that he’s okay being single even though it has been five years since he dated someone. What’s more important to him is two sons, James and Henry. For him, they are his priority.
