Colin Trevorrow Reveals He’s Already Working on ‘Star Wars Episode IX’
It’s just a few months away before the new “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” premiere but Lucasfilm is already preparing Episode 8 and even more surprising is that Episode 9 is already in the works as well. Read on for more details.
According to Screen Crush, director Colin Trevorrow has unveiled that he’s already preparing “Star Wars Episode IX.” He took to his Twitter account to share the news. The photo shows a book with the Lucasfilm logo and caption “Back to school.”
The following years, expect more “Star Wars.” Next years, “Rogue One,” which if the first of the “Star Wars Stories” anthology will begin and it will be followed by Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars Episode VIII.” After that, fans will see Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s young “Han Solo” movie. And to wrap up the whole saga, it all comes down to Trevorrow who’s in-charge of “Episode IX.”
“Star Wars Episode IX” is expected to hit theaters in May 2019.
To put everything in a nutshell, “Star Wars” fans, it’s going to be 5 years filled of your favorite sci-fi. There is no wonder why Trevorrow is already preparing for Episode 9, with the high expectations for the “Star Wars” trilogy. It is developed by the original writer Lawrence Kasdan together with Michael Arndt and Simon Kinberg. Also, let’s take into consideration the fact that the trilogy is epic and Trevorrow wants to level up to that height of expectation by being ready as early as possible.
On the other hand, before Trevorrow goes all out on “Star Wars Episode IX” he has yet to wrap up the small film that he’s currently working on titled “The Book of Henry,” which he’s working with Derek Connolly.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” premieres on Dec. 18, 2015 while Episode 8 will hit teeters on May 26, 2017 and will be followed by Episode 9.
