‘Creed’ trailer: Sylvester Stallone is Back as Rocky Balboa

Rocky IV” marked the death of Rocky Balboa’s best friend Apollo Creed at the hands of Ivan Drago, a hulking maniac from the Soviet Union played by Dolph Lundgren. Rocky avenged his death by defeating Ivan on Christmas Day. When the franchise had finished, Rocky went into retirement by opening a restaurant called “Adrian’s” in the memory of his late wife and started living a quiet life. It seems the story was not meant to end there. It was because Rocky Balboa has been forced to come out of retirement by none other than Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo. Read on.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the “Rocky” spin-off entitled “Creed” just launched it’s first trailer. It shows Michael.B.Jordan as Adonis Creed who believes boxing is in his blood.

When you happen to be the son of Apollo Creed, you’ve every reason to believe that. The movie’s first trailer takes us back to Philadelphia where Adonis travels to in order to track down Rocky Balboa and seek his help in training him. Once he tells Rocky that he is Apollo Creed’s son, the latter agrees to mentor him in his quest of becoming a boxer.

Initially before approaching Rocky, Adonis is shown going to a boxing facility where he is discouraged from entering the ring saying that people who enter the ring come there to fight for their life. He is also reminded that his own father died in a ring to which he replies that it has got nothing to do with him.

This year could certainly prove to be a breakthrough year for Jordan. It was since his other movie “Fantastic Four” reboot is also hitting theaters in August and features him as the Human Torch.

It would be interesting to see Rocky and Adonis’s equation in “Creed” especially when Rocky agrees to mentor him. The movie is being directed by Ryan Coogler with Sylvester Stallone serving as producer. The movie will hit theaters on November 25, 2015.
