‘Criminal Minds’ Season 11 Spoilers: Jennifer Love Hewitt Leaves Permanently?

“Criminal Minds” season 11 spoilers have confirmed that Jennifer Love Hewitt is leaving the CBS series. Several reports revealed that the actress decided to leave the series due to her pregnancy.

It has been confirmed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will no longer join the cast of “Criminal Minds” when it returns for season 11. Together co-star AJ Cook, Jennifer Love Hewitt has taken a maternity leave to focus on their respective families.

Speaking to TV Guide, showrunner Erica Messer revealed that they would love to see AJ and Jennifer reprise their roles in season 12. She added that the network had no plans of killing their character off.

“It was really something that was organic and surprising in a good way. None of us thought at the beginning of the season we’d end the year with two pregnant actresses! And right now, it’s too soon to say what would happen in two years if we’re lucky enough to have [a Season 12]. We would love to have her back.”

Many fans were disappointed when they found out that Jennifer Love Hewitt will be departing from the series. After all, her character, FBI Agent Kate Callahan, was only introduced in season 10. Some even speculated that her absence could be permanent.

Messer, however, gave fans hope of Hewitt’s return when she said that the producers wanted the viewers to dig deeper into the current characters’ story rather than introduce new ones.

“I think it might also be a good idea to leave [the position] open so we don’t have to spend time introducing a new character for fans, but really dive into these people we’ve known and loved for 10 years.”
