Critics’ Choice Movie Awards 2015 Nominees Announced [WATCH VIDEO]

Awards season continues to heat up and nominations for the 2015 Critics' Choice Movie Awards further added to it.  "Birdman" tops the list of nominees with 13 nods, followed by "The Grand Budapest Hotel" with 11 and Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" with eight nominations. Read on for further details.

According to the official site, actor/director Ron Howard will be honored with the Louis XIII Critics' Choice Genius Award. Actress Jessica Chastain will receive the Critics' Choice MVP Award. Winners are selected by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, a group of about 300 film critics.


“Birdman” is nominated for Best Picture, and the cast is collectively recognized for Best Acting Ensemble. Michael Keaton is up for Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy categories, Edward Norton for Best Supporting Actor and Emma Stone for Best Supporting Actress. Iñárritu is nominated for Best Director, and the film is also up for Best Original Screenplay, Best Comedy, Best Score, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Art Direction.

Christopher Nolan's expansive sci-fi drama “Interstellar” is up for seven awards.  “Gone Girl” and “The Imitation Game” follow with six nods respectively. The 20th Annual Critics' Choice Awards ceremony will be hosted by Michael Strahan.  The gala will be held at the Hollywood Palladium on Jan. 15, 2015 and will air live on A&E.
