“The Notebook” a beloved romantic drama from Nicholas Spark is in the works at CW. A series is being developed by the network based on the 1996 bestselling novel from Spark and a 2004 hit film New Line Sleeper, which starred Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the story of the new series will take you on a romantic journey of Noah and Allie – the two beloved central characters. The romantic journey blossom in the middle of economic inequity, racial politics and social moresthat was prominent during the late 1940s post war era.

If green signal is given to the series, “The Notebook” will be a second period drama that will be represented by The CWs after reign. The series will be an earnest one provided it reflects correctly from the source it is taken. It will be a classic romantic story that will travel through decades.

According to, “The Notebook” will quite likely be different from contemporary rom-coms and action filled genre shows from The CWs. All said and done, the story’s tear jerker framing device will probably be omitted by CW, as told by CW president Mark Pedowitz during an interview at Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills.

However, during the development things have changed. It is exciting that Nick Spark want to do the series at The CW. Nicholas Sparks production is undertaking this project in association with Warner Bros. Televison.

The script is written by Todd Graff along with Theresa Park and Sparks. The book “The Notebook” is a very well received motion picture. There are other TV series that are already in works based on Minority Report (Fox), Uncle Buck (ABC), Limitless (CBS), and Rush Hour (CBS).

The CW is preparing many other TV shows along with “The Notebook” that are just as beloved as this film. The network has also taken up the project to make an adaption of Little Women. The script is written by none other than Alexis Jolly which depicts half-sisters Beth, Meg, Joe and Amy, as they make efforts to survive on the dystopia streets of Philadelphia.
