It looks like Dakota Johnson needs to stick to acting, as the “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress gets slammed over her controversial ISIS sketch on “Saturday Night Live.” Read on to learn more about this scoop.

Dakota Johnson received criticisms over her ISIS sketch on “Saturday Night Live.” The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress hosted the comedy series on Saturday, Feb. 28. While Johnson may have hoped to unleash her comedic side, her ISIS skit turned out to be jst the contrary!

The controversial comedy sketch started with Johnson bidding her father (played by Taran Killam) goodbye. Her dad offers her to stay home, but Johnson refuses. He tells her he’ll see her on Thanksgiving. Her ride arrives and it shows a truck full of men with machine guns. Dakota’s father tells her to be careful. She replies, “Dad, it’s just ISIS” and boards the truck. Her father asks them to take care of her and one of them shoots their gun.

According to Telegraph, Johnson’s ISIS sketch came a week after three girls from London went missing. The girls were believed to have joined the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Some fans and notable personalities slammed the sketch for its insensitivity for creating a joke out of a serious matter. Gavin MacInnes tweeted: “This sketch gives me hope for America.”

Some fans did not like Johnson’s sketch while others found it entertaining. A user named @PapaSills tweeted: “Saturday Night Live making Dakota Johnson the host was bad enough, but making an ISIS joke was just downright offensive.” Another user named @a_dead_violet tweeted: “I didn’t know the story behind why people thought the ISIS skit was offensive. I just thought Dakota’s delivery was funny #SNL #ISISskit”

While Johnson may have been heavily criticized over her ISIS sketch, the actress still received applause over her SNL monologue with a surprise appearance from her mother and actress, Melanie Griffith and her father, Don Johnson.

Don told his daughter when Dakota asks them why they are covering their faces: “We were just afraid you were going to be naked.”
