The episode picked up from where it left off. Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) began throwing the gun she used to kill James Wesley (Toby Leonard Moore) into the river before going home. At home, she drank herself to sleep and dreamt that Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) was inside her apartment, waiting to kill her. She then went to the office. She was shocked to see that Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), who had gone there to gather up some of his things, was there. She then handed him a copy of the files that Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall) had been given by the vigilante, whom Foggy thought wasn’t a terrorist anymore. However, as he left, Matthew “Matt” Murdock (Charlie Cox) came in, which made things quite uncomfortable. Before he left, Foggy warned Karen to stay away from harder drugs than alcohol after she joked about it.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, after Vanessa Marianna (Ayelet Zurer) woke up, Fisk told her that she would be moved out of the country. However, she refused to leave him. Fisk then discovered that Wesley had been shot. He vowed to take revenge on whoever killed him.
Fisk discovered that Wesley’s last call was to his mother. He grew angry and decided to move his ailing mother to Italy, where none of his enemies could get to her.
After learning from Ben the address of where he had seen several blind Chinese men and women going around with backpacks, Matt to that particular address, and tracked them down to a particular warehouse.
Later that night, Foggy met up with Marci Stahl (Amy Rutberg). The firm she was working for represented Fisk. He then showed her the evidence and asked her to help them because he knew that she still had a soul.
Meanwhile, Karen went to Ben and persuaded him to pitch their story to Ellison (Geoffrey Cantor) the next day. However, he got fired from The Bulletin. It was after insulting Ellison, whom he had accused of being in Fisk’s pocket.
Later that night, Matt managed to enter the factory. He fought off Madame Gao’s guards who burned the rest of the heroin, which caused a fire within the building. He then discovered that Madame Gao could easily defeat him. Then, he also told him that he had taken away her people’s faith in “something more,” and that now, they had nothing. Matt then managed to get everyone out of the building, but was cornered by Sergeant Brett Mahoney (Royce Johnson), whom he unarmed, and whom he told that half of his precinct was in Fisk’s pay.
Meanwhile, at a nearby rooftop, Leland Owlsley (Bob Gunton) met up with Gao. There, it was revealed that they had orchestrated the poisoning at the benefit as they wanted to kill Vanessa, who was becoming a distraction to Fisk. Gao then told him that she would be going back home to rest up, and mysteriously disappeared.
Matt then went back to the office. He told Karen that he was getting tired, and that he had finally realized that he had to stop pushing people away as he couldn’t do things alone anymore. Karen then hugged him and told him that he didn’t need to be alone, and that he never was.
Meanwhile, Ben, encouraged by his wife, decided to write the article about Fisk murdering his father so that he could post it on a blog. However, he was stopped by Fisk, who had been waiting for him. After learning that it was only Ben who had gone to visit his mother, Fisk strangled him to death.
