Daredevil Update: Netflix Announces Premiere Date

MARVEL is continually making leaps and bounds on the small screen as a another superhero will be gracing the small screen to join the roster of MARVEL live-action television characters. Netflix will be giving out an Easter treat to MARVEL and Daredevil fans alike, as the network won’t just be airing one episode on its premiere date, but it’s entire first season. Read on to learn more about this story.

According to MARVEL’s official page, the new Netflix show, which will mark its first ever collaboration with MARVEL, will premiere on April 10, 2015.

However, this new series will be unlike the previous two MARVEL television shows, which followed the regular television network schedule and released one episode per week. Netflix, instead of airing new episodes every week, will be releasing all 13 episodes of the first season of “Daredevil” on the premiere date, as soon as it hits 12:01 a.m., allowing fans of MARVEL and of the superhero to indulge in it.

This will also pave the way for another MARVEL and Netflix series, “MARVEL’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” starring Krysten Ritter, which will also be released in the same year.

“MARVEL’s Daredevil” follows the story of Matt Murdock, a lawyer with extraordinary senses as he was blinded when he was a young boy, who fights crime and injustice by night as the superhero Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen in today’s New York City.

The show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and the titular superhero Daredevil. The superhero’s mentor, “Stick,” a martial artist, will be portrayed by Scott Glenn, while his sidekick and best friend, Foggy Nelson, will be portrayed by Elden Henson. Their secretary, Karen Page, will be portrayed by Deborah Ann Woll.

The series will also star Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Cox is the second actor to don the mantle of the superhero, as Daredevil was recently portrayed by Ben Affleck in the 2003 movie of the same name, in which he co-starred with Jennifer Garner, who portrayed Daredevil’s love interest, the martial artist Elektra.
