David Duchovny Talks about What to Expect in ‘Aquarius’
The “X-Files” star David Duchovny plays an important role in NBC’s upcoming drama series “Aquarius.” He revealed some interesting details for the show’s excited fans. Read on for details.
Duchovny stars as Detective Sam Hodiak, an old-school cop in San Francisco, according to TVLine. Hodiak will be tasked to find his ex-girlfriend’s lost teenage daughter, Emma Karn (Emma Dumont). He partners with another “shaggy” cop, Brian Shafe (Grey Damon). The two will unconsciously follow the trail of the show’s ultimate villain, the wannabe rockstar and future murderer Charles Manson.
The main protagonist of “Aquarius” explained to TVLine that Hodiak will have no idea about the capabilities of Manson and his followers. Duchovny revealed that Hodiak will think that Manson is just “a punk, a pimp, a con man.” However, Hodiak will learn that Manson is a master manipulator of young men and women. Duchovny said that Hodiak knows that Manson is a criminal but never expects the punk to be one of the most controversial murderers in history.
As a final note, Duchovny expressed his admiration to the storyline. He liked the idea that his and Damon’s characters are going to fail at one point.
“So there’s something tragic about Shafe and Hodiak that I like a lot,” Duchovny said.
Aside from Duchovny, his co-star Emma Dumont also talked about her character in “Aquarius.” In an exclusive interview with TVLine, Dumont described the experiences of her character, Emma, to be “so new and shocking and intense.” Although they both have the same first name, Dumont made it clear that Emma is younger and “less experienced at life” than her. Emma is also different from Dumont’s past roles before “Aquarius.”
The one-hour episodes of “Aquarius” will air every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.
