Warner Bros. Animation along with DC Entertainment releases an all-new trailer for the upcoming direct-to-DVD animation feature, “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts.” Read on to learn more about it.

According to the Comicbook.com, the trailer will follow the adventures of Gotham’s Dark Knight as he faces the Penguin’s assembled animal-themed super villain team. He needs to fight off Man-Bat, Cheetah, Killer Croc and Silverback. Batman, on the other hand, must work with his team including his fellow superheroes, Nightwing, Red Robin, Green Arrow and the Flash to save Gotham once more.

“Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts” is part of DC Entertainment’s new line of cartoon feature films and shorts featuring characters based off of their two toy lines: Batman Unlimited and DC Superfriends. “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts” will be available May this year, with a sequel set to hit within the latter half of 2015.

Moreover, aside from the direct-to-DVD animation feature, “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts,” it will extend into a series of 22 two-minute shorts available digitally and on an exclusive app.

According to Variety.com, the rest of the Justice League will be featured in a “series of 15 three-minute animated shorts” inspired by the Fisher-Price “DC Super Friends” Toy Line which will launch later this spring on digital platforms and on another exclusive app.

This wave of animated features and shorts comes from a collaboration between DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and each toy line’s respective manufacturers, Mattel, and Fisher-Price.

“We are thrilled to be working with our Warner Bros., Mattel, and Fisher-Price colleagues to create new Batman and DC Super Friends kids’ content, these new animated projects will offer all new Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman adventures that seamlessly jump from toybox to screen,” DC Entertainment’s president Diane Nelson told Variety.
