‘Deadpool’ Sequel In The Works, Confirms Producer; ‘Cable’ Might Be In It

“Deadpool” is so good that they’re already making a sequel, says producer Simon Kinberg. ‘The merc with the mouth’ is in the rough-cut of the film, and FOX is so impressed by it that they have fast-tracked “Deadpool 2.” Read on to find out more.

Simon Kinberg, producer of “Deadpool” has seen the rough-cut of the film, and cannot stop raving about it. We all loved the “Deadpool” trailer, and Kinberg, in an interview with Collider, promises that the film delivers every bit of the trailers.

“I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it’s fantastic. It’s a really good movie…. We really committed and leaned into it being R-rated. It’s just darker and edgier and weirder in the best way—like Deadpool should be—than any other movie in the genre.”

According to Kinberg, they are going to be well into the sequel making process by the time “Deadpool” comes out.

So “Deadpool 2” is definitely happening, but Kinberg was more tight lipped about the rumored inclusion of “Cable” into the second movie, saying that it was too premature for him to comment on at the time, although he did commit to saying that the character was very important in the Deadpool universe.

Simon Kinberg is really into comic book movies. Writer of “X Men: Days of the Future Past” and “Fantastic Four” (although we are not sure he would want to put that on his CV), producer for the next batch of upcoming marvel movies, including “Gambit,” and “X Men: Apocalypse,” the man has made his living out of gloriously spandex-clad men thumping on each other with super-powers. The man knows what he is talking about.

In the meantime, the Merc with the mouth himself was spotted on Ryan Reynolds twitter, trying to bond with  “Negasonic Teenage Warhead.”

“Deadpool” is set to crash into theaters on February 12, 2016.
