MORE IN-DEPTH SIBLING RIVALRY ON ‘GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2’? DR. WHO ACTRESS WHO PLAYS NEBULA SAYS, “YES!”
Karen Gillan, who has already been announced to repeat her earlier role as “Nebula” in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” mentioned to Comic Book Resources that the sequel of epic 2014 blockbuster superhero movie will eventually take a deeper stab on the hate/hate relationship she has with her sister, Gamora (Zoey Zaldana).
“I think what I’m really excited about it delving into the sisterly relationship between Gamora and Nebula. I think that we’re going to see a little bit more of that, and it’s going to be a bit more fleshed out,” Gillan said.
The 27-year-old Scottish actress over-all revealed when inquired about her reaction upon the time she received her personally-delivered “GOTG 2” script.
The former Amy Pond in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who also admitted that due to her enthusiasm on finally getting hold of the script she put on the much-celebrated “Guardians of the Galaxy” Awesome Mixtape 2 as she locked herself upstairs in her room.
Gillan’s zeal is highly-anticipated as her villainous role wasn’t given much of a backstory in the first installment of the movie adaptation from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the brief screen time that they shared, Nebula and Gamora were divulged as orphaned inhabitants from the conquered planets of Thanos.
Both adopted children were then inexplicably experimented to become a living weapon under the Mad Titan’s disposal. It was not mentioned why Nebula has always felt contempt for her half-sister.
Their lives further became a crossroad as they battled each other as the Dark Aster was about to nosedived on Xandar, with Nebula making a daring escape. Expect that once the sibling’s catch-up with each other for the sequel, the stakes included will no less than be the future of the galaxy.
Her role as the azure-colored killing-machine will still have her endure the lengthy make-up session and for those in constant inquiry. It was if Nebula will finally be sporting some hair just like her comic-book character, Director James Gunn answers as with “NO” via Twitter.
