Did Ryan Seacrest and Taylor Swift Kiss at Midnight on New Year’s Eve?

After some time of anticipation, New Year’s Eve has come. For some celebrities, this meant giving one special person a good kiss. And for Jenny McCarthy, this is the perfect chance to get Ryan Seacrest to kiss Taylor Swift.

So how did it all end up?

At the beginning of 2014, Ryan Seacrest made the news by kissing Miley Cyrus on the welcoming of the New Year last year in “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2014.” And for 2015, co-host McCarthy decided to play matchmaker and paired him up with Taylor Swift, who was just in Times Square for the live ABC broadcast.

According to E! News, the two hosts bickered on the match up. McCarthy claims that since Seacrest played matchmaker for her and her new husband Donnie Wahlberg, she decided to return the favor by pairing him up with Swift, even saying “I'm going to make it happen.”

For his part, Seacrest bemusedly played innocent on last year’s New Year kiss with Cyrus. In response to E!’ News' Alicia Quarles comment — “If they work out, [McCarthy] just hooked them up” — Seacrest said, “I don't think that will be the story, but thank you.”

Seacrest later shared a video on Instagram showing him and Swift puckering up and inching slowly towards each other. But in the end, all hopes fell over when just before they end up kissing, they both took their iPhones and snapped a photo of their puckered lips. They then placed the iPhones side by side, making the photos look as if they were kissing. Afterwards, they shared a good hug.

Talk about a major letdown for fans expecting a midnight kiss for Swift that night! But all in all, everyone celebrated the coming of the New Year with good cheer.
