‘Dirty Dancing’ Reboot Announced by ABC, Starring Abigail Breslin
The hot romantic drama “Dirty Dancing” is trending in the news these days for remake. There been an official announcement on the remake in 2011 too however it was cancelled earlier this year. According to USA Today, Abigail Breslin would be playing the iconic role of Baby originally played by Jennifer Grey in the 1987 flick. The “Perfect Sisters”stated through her Twitter account announcing that she would be playing the role with the signature line from the movie.
“Dirty Dancing” reboot will be a three-hour television movie along with songs and dance performances. However, no one has been finalized for the role of Patrick Swayze. Although it is rumored that Ryan Gosling is considered as the front runner to play Patrick Swayze in the remake as he had done a small sequence in his film “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”
There was a remake announced by Lionsgate in 2011 which never happened for multiple reasons. The film was about to get directed by choreographer Kenny Ortega which got postponed for the time being to get cancelled later on.
“Dirty Dancing” won a number of accolades in different categories and was a huge hit of the 80’s. The movie is remembered for its iconic dance sequences and some extremely memorable dance steps. The film got a decent start initially but grew on with popularity after some time of its release, it is said that people used to watch “Dirty Dancing” multiple times in theatres.
