‘Divergent: Allegiant’ Movie Update: Rosa Salazar Fired From Franchise?; Adaptation To Have Different Ending?

Sad news for “Divergent” series fans. Rosa Salazar, who plays the role of Lynn in the second installment won’t be returning back for “The Divergent Series: Allegiant: Part One.” Read on for more details.

In the Comic-Con, when Collider asked about her role in the film’s third installment, the 30-year-old Canadian actress simply said that she won’t be coming back to “Allegiant” at all.

But, according to the book series, Lynn is still alive at the end of the movie version of “Insurgent” where Salazar’s character was featured in a small role.

The filmmakers wanted to cast out Lynn for the first “Divergent” movie and the production team brought Salazar to take the role of Lynn in the sequel, “The Divergent Series: Insurgent.” Those who have read the books knows that the dauntless-born, the outlet reported that Lynn “doesn’t do anywhere near as much in the movie as she does in the book.” Whereas Lynn gets all the glory in the book, and she seems perfectly fine at the end of the movie.

Fans are already surprised to see Lynn surviving “Insurgent.” Salazar is currently busy with other projects as her second “Maze Runner” is going to release soon. If one talk about box-office, it was a “smart move” by the production to keep her around for a while.

Now, Salazar has mentioned that she won’t be coming back for “Allegiant,” other new characters’ involvement is into question as well. If Lynn is not around, why would the team be keeping Emjay Anthony?

If the production team has decided to opt out Lynn, it isn’t a deal breaker. On the other hand, it is surely a disappointment for Salazar’s fans as we all know that the actress has a lot more to offer.

But, Shailene Woodley and Theo James will be returning to the “Divergent” series for the “Allegiant” movies.
