“Divergent” series, adopted from author Veronica Roth’s novel of same name has just made a major change to YA book-to-film adaptation titling. The last two films of “Divergent” series were previously named “Allegiant: Part 1” and “Allegiant: Part 2.” Read on for more details.
The re-titling makes “Allegiant: Part 1” to “The Divergent Series: Allegiant” and “The Divergent Series: Ascendants.” MTV broke the news for “Divergent” series fans and also revealed the new titles and posters for the two movies.
“The Divergent Series: Allegiant” – Break The Boundaries of Your World
“The Divergent Series: Ascendants” – The End Is Never What You Expect
Fans from around the world as to what this means. Hypable notes that even Roth sounded a bit uncertain. She communicated to her fans about the recent developments in the titling.
“What does this mean? Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it’s really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them. I know changes always make fans of the books — and the author! — nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys.” Roth said.
Well, this would not make “Divergent” book fans very happy as the re-titling of “Allegiant: Part 1” and “Allegiant: Part 2” clearly indicates towards suggestive alternative ending by fans of “Divergent” movies. Tris will be left alive and the world will ‘expand’ to an entirely new level!
The tagline of “The Divergent Series: Ascendants” clearly expresses the same with “The End Is Never What You Expect.” MTV and Divergent official Twitter accounts also confirmed the news and are promising fans of a new ‘expanded’ world.
Tris’ death had left book fans saddened and “Divergent” movie fans had been expecting of a alternative ending to the last part, “The Divergent Series: Ascendants.”
Tris’ life, if given extension, would make many things possible. Like, Tris and Four might get married and have babies! Well, this sure does make remembering titles easy! “Divergent” novel fans will be hoping that this just doesn’t become ‘Tris and Four happily live ever after!’
