‘Django Unchained’ Actor Ato Essandoh Joins ‘Bourne 5’
“Bourne 5” has just added “Django Unchained” actor Ato Essandoh to its cast roster. Joining Matt Damon as the titular super-spy, the 47-year-old HBO regular is a new face in the ‘Bourne’ series. Read on for more details.
Ato Essandoh, who is best known for his role in BBC America’s Copper as Matthew Freeman, the physician, is a regular face on TV. His other acting credits include Lester Grimes in rock n’ roll series, “Vinyl” and Alfredo Llamosa in the Sherlock Holmes thriller “Elementary.” On the big screen, Essandoh has appeared in “Django Unchained,” “Blood Diamond” and did our favorite cameo of all time as ‘smiling african guy’ in Russell Brand’s “Get him to the Greek.”
He is also, if instagram is to be believed, a magical nerd.
Character details are deliberately being kept under wraps, The Wrap is (aptly) reporting.
Essandoh joins the already impressive roster for “Bourne 5” which has Vincent Cassel as the yet-unnamed villain, along with Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander. Julia Stiles is reprising her character ‘Nicky.’ And of course, we have a ripped, lean Matt Damon as ‘Jason Bourne’ himself.
Paul Greengrass is back to the series as director, and Frank Marshall is producing.
Matt Damon, recently said that that the movie will be set partly in a Greece under the throes of the economic crisis, partly in Las Vegas, USA. In his own words, “from the earliest example of democracy to the most grotesque one.”
“Bourne 5” is set to hit the theaters on July 29, 2016.
