‘Doctor Strange:’ The Mysterious Role That Rachel McAdams Might Play in the Movie
Marvel is gearing up to shoot “Doctor Strange” and the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are all excited to find out more about the new characters. It has been revealed that Doctor Strange will star Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams, and while it is obvious that Benedict Cumberbatch will play the protagonist, the details about Rachel McAdams character haven’t been revealed yet.
The new movie will show Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, but it is Rachel McAdams’s character that is drawing the most attention. Will she be Doctor Strange’s love interest? Or will she play an antagonist? Everybody is looking forward to knowing more about her.
Collider found out that some new information has come up about the matter. Marvel Studio’s president Kevin Feige revealed, “Rachel McAdams plays a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is his sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into the role of a sorcerer. She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity.”
Benedict Cumberbatch also revealed something about the character when he was asked about Rachel McAdams being the love interest in the film. He said, “I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say what the interest is, but if I hit on her more than the Ancient One, put it like that.”
So it is obvious from the information that McAdams’ character is going to be like Jane Foster’s character from the Thor series. EW notes that Marvel Studios is being very tight lipped about it all, but it looks like her character might just be the sort of person who knows about Doctor Strange’s past and present and might just be his confidant and lover. This is just a hypothesis. She might even play a minor role in the film.
