Don Vito Margera Of ‘Jackass’ Passes Away At The Age of 59 After Battling Liver And Kidney Failure
Vincent also known as, Don Vito Margera passed away at the age of 59 on Sunday morning.
Jackass star Margera was well-known for the pranks that he and Bam Margera, his nephew pulled on the “Jackass” movies, as well as, on the MTV show.
Margera had also made appearances in several other projects along with his nephew Bam that included “Viva La Bam”, the Jackass spin-off show.
April, mother of Bam Margera, told TMZ that Margera expired at 6.45 am in the morning, this Sunday.
A report published in the website stated that Don Vito had been ailing from liver and kidney failure for several years now. He was in a coma since October this year.
On the other hand, a report published by Perez Hilton stated that Don Vito Margera had collapsed in Pennsylvania, in his own home. April said that Margera’s excessive drinking throughout his lifetime was the cause of his liver failure.
Margera had got his “Don Vito” nickname as most of the time; his speech was nearly unintelligible and often needed captions on the TV so that viewers could understand what he was speaking. This was similar to Don Vito Corleone, a major character in “The Godfather”.
Don Vito Margera had been involved into a few lawsuits in the last decade, prior to his death. In the year 2007, he was found guilty by the juries on two occasions for sexually assaulting a child. He has been also sentenced for a period of 10 years on probation. All through these 10 years he had to forego his alter ego.
Though he was awake for the last four days, his vital organs had continued failing.
It was a big blow for Bam for the second time around, as he had lost his co-star and best friend Ryan Dunn. Dunn, 34, had drunk heavily at a Pennsylvanian bar and crashed his Porsche in June 2011. He not only killed himself but also his co-passenger, Zachary Hartwell.
Vincent Don Vito Margera’s death was also a devastating blow for the MTV family.
