Downton Abbey Season 5 Recap: Episode Four
Halfway through the series, and “Downton Abbey” is getting more exciting. The fourth episode of Season 5 was crazy. If you missed it, read on for the full recap below.
After spending a week with Tony Gillingham, Lady Mary has decided that she doesn’t want to get involved with him romantically for the rest of her life. She had her doubts last episode, but all along we thought that she’s going to push through with the whole marriage thing with Tony. However, she only ended up telling him how she really feels. Tony didn’t take it lightly. He’s the kind of man that wouldn’t take no for an answer, and we wonder how he’s going to transform that NO into a YES. Meanwhile, Lady Mary has become friends with Charles Blake, and their friendship was getting deeper in this episode.
Robert was noticing Cora and Simon’s closeness, and he didn’t like it of course because Cora is his wife. However, he has been snooping around lately, and we think that this is not the right way to win his wife back. An argument between Sarah Bunting and Robert happened again when Sarah asked Daisy on what she was being taught. This angered Robert, and the two bickered again. Robert asked Sarah to leave. As for Daisy, she wanted to use her knowledge to help Mrs. Patmore on the war memorial because Mrs. Patmore was desperate to have her nephew’s name there.
Anna went to visit the spot where Mr. Green died, and she was seen, which means that this intensifies the investigation and has made her a suspect. In this episode, we also saw the return of Mr. Barrow who seems to be dealing with some sort of illness. And Lord Merton also proposed to Cousin Isobel, but Cousin Isobel told him that she’ll think about it first.
