Dr. Dre Tops Forbes’ Highest Paid Musician List [WATCH VIDEO]
Forbes released the list of highest paid musician of 2014, and Dr. Dre topped the list. Thanks to his best-selling Beats headphones. The 49-year-old hip-hop star made $620 million (£395m) this year — the biggest sum of any musician in history over 12 months, according to Forbes. Dre, whose real name Andre Young, has earned more than $3 billion. He sold Beats, the audio electronics company he co-founded in 2008, to Apple for a whopping $3 billion. Beats made dazzling, colossal headphones a trend again and soon became music lovers’ go-to brand for personal listening. Beyoncé follows Dre in second place on Forbes’ list, with $115 million worth of earnings. The pop singer has earned this sum from her "surprise" album, Mrs. Carter Show tour and deals with H&M and Pepsi.
"Hotel California” rockers The Eagles came third, having earned $100 million so far this year from their History of the Eagles world tour. Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen were on forth and fifth places, earning $82 million and $81 million respectively. The others who made the list are One Direction, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, Jay Z, Bruno Mars and the world’s highest-paid DJ, Calvin Harris.
