So what is the final word on the Drake – Nicki Minaj – Meek Mill feud? Well, turns out, Drake sent Meek Mill the ultimate insult. Bustle reports that Drake’s diss track “Back to Back” has been nominated for the Grammy’s. Oh Yeah! That’s one up for Drake.

2015 is coming to end and Drake and Meek Mill are still making diss tracks to put each other down. There are people out there who think that the two rappers have taken it too far. Some people are beginning to whisper that the boys need to grow up. But many rappers believe that rap is about boasting and dissing and if it ain’t a diss, it ain’t a rap. But the stuff does get repetitive every once in a while. If it weren’t for the innovative lyrics that made you go, “Ow! He killed it,” we wouldn’t be able to tell one song from the other.

So as far as I can see, Rap has fallen to the level of clever rhymes. It used to be about the social comment and political outrage, but now it is just about “niggaz getting hoes and strutting their stuff.”

While I greatly enjoy the whole, “wait a minute! Is that another diss” scenario, I would rather see lyric-heavy writing to win the Grammys. Call me an old hag, but I still think, “Gangsta’s Paradise” was Grammy worthy, while the latest diss tracks are not that impressive.

At any rate, Drake has won a Grammy nomination. The song is not bad; it turns the lyrics in unexpected ways, but it does not put forth interesting ideas. I guess, 2pac fans like me are harder to please. Did Tupac win a Grammy? I don’t know, but the man is a freaking legend. And we gotta respect him for his music.
