Drake and Rihanna Top Spotify Streams Of The Year; Adele, Taylor Swift Nowhere In The List
Good news for Drake and Rihanna fans! It has been recently reported that, according to Spotify music streaming service, the two rockstars who have been making their fans go mad about them are none other than Drake and Rihanna. Now called as the king and queen of 2015, the two have become the maximum streamed artists of the year. Read On!
As reported by Billboard, Drake has become the most streamed artist with a total of 1.8 billion streams together with 46 million active listeners, leaving behind his ex-girlfriend Rihanna who is at number two in the league.
With a huge number of 1 billion streams on Spotify, Rihanna has not yet released any path-breaking album this year. Two major releases by the Toronto emcee, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and “What A Time To Be Alive” have been greatly cherished by the audience. With this the star is believed to be at an important time of his career.
Talking about the most viral songs of the year, Drake’s number “Hotline Bling” has been reported to be at the top among others. When talking about the most streamed albums in the United States, “The Weeknd’s Beauty” has also been one of the best hits. Considering the best five male singers in the US, we have Drake followed by The Weeknd, Kanye West, Ed Sheeran and Eminem.
Also it has been noticed that the two artists who might have been ahead of Rihanna, Adele and Taylor Swift are nowhere found in the Spotify’s catalog. This year no album has been released by Swift and “1989” was her last album in 2014.
Talking about Adele, her previous albums are on Spotify, however, her new record clobbering “25” is not. Its quite interesting to see the major changes in the music industry when we compare certain big names, maintaining top positions has always been a major task.
