Drastic Change in Plot: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12
“Grey’s Anatomy” has returned last Thursday, September 24 at 8 p.m. on ABC and CTV with its 12th season. As previously reported, the show will retain its root despite the death of Dr. McDreamy, the pivotal character played by Patrick Dempsey.
The season will gracefully showcase the home of Ellis Grey, where Meredith Grey was living at the beginning of the series after the curtain raises on Season 12. The fans are kept satiated for a prolonged decade with the medical drama, comprising of some sexy surgeries in its palette. The show was an instant hit with its twisted plot and interesting character ensembles.
The protagonists Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd, played by Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey respectively, were dearest to the fans. But the last season has witnessed Derek’s death and this season will see Meredith alone for the first time.
During the previous seasons, viewers have seen many flaws in Meredith’s Character that has made her human. She is unable to commit, clad with inferiority complex, and sometimes the habit to take the circumstance for granted, are some of the few traits that make her beloved to all. But this season will curve a deeper context of her character, as she is left as a widow now. She may perceive a tone of dark edge but will not leave the charm of fun and simplicity. Predictably, her interest in men will not be very enticing after the tragic catastrophe of her husband.
We heard Rhimes’ comment on the drastic change in the plots. She explained that though the season will not foresee Derek, but in every moment the love between the duo will appear as eternal as before. She admitted as a storyteller, that she faced difficulty to kill Derek’s character.
