Dwayne Johnson to Star in Film Adaptation of ‘Rampage’ Video Game
New Line Cinema is all set to make a feature length film of popular ‘80s midway arcade video game “Rampage” and “San Andreas” star, Dwayne Johnson will be seen in the lead role.
After the enormous success of “San Andreas,” Dwayne Johnson is re-teaming with New Line in a live action feature film. The plot of the film is still under wraps but “Rampage” involved three giant monsters – a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf that creates chaos in major cities across North America.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script of “Rampage” is penned by Ryan Engle but the director’s seat is still vacant. From the banner, Flynn Pictures Co., Beau Flynn will produce the film along with John Rickard. Rickard is currently working as a producer at New Line’s upcoming “How To Be Single.”
Dwayne Johnson who is represented by WME is currently working for New Line, shooting “Central Intelligence” alongside Kevin Hart and after that he will tight his belts to shoot for the “Fast & Furious 8.”
Dwayne Johnson is currently one of the highest-profile actor in Hollywood. In addition to breaking the box-office records with “San Andreas,” he also starred in the massive hit film, “Furious 7” and now he is also working as a producer and actor for HBO television series “Ballers” that premiered on June 21.
No star cast has been revealed at this time by New Line for “Rampage” but we are pretty excited to watch Dwayne Johnson fighting lizard, wolf and gorilla.
