After the long silence with his recently confirmed movie tie-in with DC Comics and Warner Bros, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gives updates and teases on his upcoming villainous role as Black Adam in “Shazam.” Read on to know more about the details to this scoop.
DC Comics and Warner Bros. are gearing up to compete with the overwhelming Box Office track record that Marvel and Disney has set with their Marvel Cinematic Universe. Things may still be development for them but at the very least things are falling into place with “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” set to kick start the entire DC Comics Movie Universe on the year 2016. They also got “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa to play the role of “Aquaman” on 2018. Some speculations are even suggesting that he will be making an appearance alongside Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but it’s not really confirmed just yet. And they are not the only DC Comics movies that will be shaking the theaters on this coming years, there’s also “Shazam.” Despite the fact that the movie won’t be showing until four years from now, it certainly did not stop Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to say a little of his piece regarding his villainous role as Black Adam.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson caught the social media’s attention when he posted on his Twitter account.
As reported by Screen Rant, the actor has long been referring to his villain character – Black Adam as the anti-hero, ever since he was confirmed to play the role. A lot of people assumed that a such character is Shazam’s main enemy, but the comics imply otherwise as they relationship is more complicated than that. Black Adam used to wield the powers of Shazam. However, he was too violent and oppressive in his practice yet he doesn’t think of himself to be villain. That’s some twist, isn’t it?
The actor’s involvement to the franchise was actually rooted long before it was confirmed. In Yahoo! UK’s feature, the actor has long been dropping hints about his involvement in a DC Comics franchise and lots of speculations circled that he will be the one playing the hero – title role but it would seem he’s siding with the bad side this time around.
Even more than so, with the way Mr. Johnson’s charisma will be too fitting for the role, there is a high chance that he could steal the spotlight for the main protagonist, potentially turning him as one of the best-rounded super-villain in the latest movies of this generation.
