Eddie Redmayne Spills About Her Friendship With Prince William Back In Eton College
Just when we thought we couldn’t love Eddie Redmayne more, we found this adorable photo of him with handsome royalty Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge. Aren’t they just the cutest BFF you’ve ever seen?
According to Glamour, Eddie and Prince William attended boarding school together in England in the 1990s. They both attended Eton College and were in fact the best of pals!
They even belong to Eton Society, also known as “Pop”, a group of elected prefects (yes like in “Harry Potter”) at the school. In this adorable photo we see both lads in their uniform.
Redmayne also revealed to the website that they even belonged to the same rugby team way back in 1997.
“We were on the same rugby [Colts B] team at Eton. He’s a wonderful man. I always felt slightly sorry for him because everyone wanted to tackle the future king of England. He took all of the hits,” he shared.
Reminiscing more about his student days, “The Theory of Everything” star also shared that he was a bit starstruck when he found out that he would be attending a school with the rich and royalty.
“It’s the weird thing Eton does—you are at school next to the lords and earls—and in my case, Prince William, so you end up being used to dealing with those sorts of people,” he told Telegraph.
Redmayne also revealed that back then, he used to chuckle in disbelief whenever he would see his pal on the headlines of newspapers saying Prince William was doing something somewhere, “and I knew he wasn’t because we were both in double French.”
We wonder what it feels like to be that close as a friend to someone as royal as Prince Will, “I’m pretty sure Will was more intimidating than I was. I don’t think I intimidated anyone in my life.”
Asked if their friendship has gone beyond their school years, Eddie said that he hasn’t seen him since school, but added that he was a great person.
