Emma Stone, a movie actress, is best known for her work in various films which include “Zombieland” (2009), “Easy A” (2010), “The Help” (2011), “The Amazing Spider-Man” (2012), “The Croods” (2013), “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” (2014) and “Magic in the Moonlight” (2014). However, it seems like the actress will be expanding her portfolio by making her mark on the stage and the Great White Way.

According to the Arts Beat blog, a section of The New York Times, a representative of The Roundabout Theater Company has confirmed that she is currently in talks to replace actress Michelle Williams in the main role of Sally Bowles in the ongoing revival run.

This would mark Emma Stone’s Broadway debut, as she has done very little theater work, with the exception of a few production numbers when she was younger.

The actress was one of those who were being considered for the role of Sally Bowles, but scheduling difficulties did not permit the actress to join.

“Cabaret,” a Tony Award-winning show, tells the story of Sally Bowles, a nightclub performer at the Kit Kat Klub, in pre-World War II Berlin. The musical is best known for several famous show tunes, such as “Cabaret” and “Maybe This Time.”

Currently, a Roundabout Theater Company production stars Michelle Williams as nightclub performer Sally Bowles opposite Alan Cumming, who portrays the Emcee. “Cabaret” is being shown at Studio 54 in New York City, which opened in April.

According to Variety, Michelle Williams will be leaving the production on Nov. 9, 2014 and would be handing over the role of Sally Bowles to Emma Stone, who will portray the character until the show closes on Jan. 4, 2015.

And that’s all for now on Emma Stone joining the cast of the Broadway revival run of “Cabaret” as the main character, Sally Bowles. For more news and updates about the entertainment world, keep on following Movie News Guide (MNG).
