According to Us Weekly, the couple was seen in a rare appearance at the Don Rickles show in Los Angeles over the weekend for their “date night.” The stunning new parents looked that they just had a baby four months ago.
Perhaps the couple sighting could now put recent break-up rumors to rest. Maybe it’s high time we accept that the couple are just more comfortable hanging out at home with baby Esmeralda than going out partying.
Just three months after Mendes gave birth, HollywoodLife.com reported that the couple was on the verge of splitting up from the stress of having a child.
“’It’s more than just run-of-the-mill stress that comes with having a newborn. They’re barely talking. Eva has pushed him away,” the source told HollywoodLife.com.
To make matters worse, “The Place Beyond the Pines” actress was left alone with the baby most of the time since he left to shoot “The Nice Guy” in Georgia. The insider added that she refused to bring baby Esmeralda on location to visit, forcing him to “travel back and forth constantly.”
In case the couple decided to call it quits, the source claims that Mendes would fight for full custody of their child since she has been the “primary, hands-on parent.”
She has always been open about her struggles as a new mother. In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, she shared that she had been “incredibly tired” of taking care of the baby.
Well, it looks like a little night out of town is might just be what the stressed couple ordered.
