EXO Lay To Quit Band, Leaves SM Entertainment To Pursue Solo Career In China? EXO Member To Release A Movie With Jackie Chan
Fans of KPop Group, EXO, are still in the state of mental meltdown after members Wu Yifan a.k.a Kris, Huang Zitao a.k.a Tao and Luhan decided to leave SM Entertainment, and now another rumor claims that Lay is now considering leaving the band to pursue a solo career in China. How true is that? Is it because of his new movie?
Movie News Guide previously reported that multiple news suggests Lay has always been uncomfortable with the fact that he is now the only Chinese member left in the Korean group. This was rumored to be one of the reasons why he is now thinking of leaving the band and following Kris, Tao, and Luhan in China.
However, according to Koreaboo, SM Entertainment quickly dismissed the rumors by calling it a sham! Lay also laid out his thoughts about the rumors in his interview with All Kpop, and according to the 23-year-old singer, he already has a clear plan on what he wants to do and neither will leave the band nor return to China until he was able to achieve his goals.
On the other hand, when it comes to Lay’s individual projects, it seems like he will be having a very hectic schedule than before as he is set to act alongside with Jackie Chan and Jackie Shroff in an Indian-Chinese film titled “Kung Fu Yoga.”
Based on the report of International Business Times, Lay will both film in India and China for his role in the movie which will be directed by Stanley Tong.
Moreover, “Kung Fu Yoga” is part of a three-film agreement signed by Chinese and Indian leadership, and is set to have its premiere next year.
Adding on, it was reported that it will be an action-comedy film which will be based mainly on the relationship of yoga practices and ancient kung fu.
Besides, Indian actress Katrina Kaif was also reported to be under consideration for the movie, and as of writing, her decision is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Lay’s part in the film is still unknown until now, but many expect that it will be as good as Choi Siwon’s “Dragon Blade” character.
Well, it seems like the rumors about Lay leaving EXO is far from reality.
