Last November 6, 2015, the now semi-finalist Heize collaborated with EXO member Chanyeol during the semi-finals for the reality television show “Unpretty Rapstar 2,” and went against SISTAR’s Hyorin, who also had a special guest artist of her own.
Many were shocked when Heize revealed that Chanyeol was the ace up her sleeve, and the rapper herself was amazed at Chanyeol’s talent, as she stated that she had been speechless during their first rehearsal together.
Later, according to K Pop Starz, the rapper praised Chanyeol’s talent, and stated that he was someone that one could easily rely on, and stated that his lyrics were also great.
Netizens and fans of the show also praised their performance, especially with the fact that Chanyeol was Heize’s secret weapon.
Fans and netizens, however, weren’t so pleased with SISTAR’s Hyorin, who won in that round against Heize and has now gone on to the finals.
According to a report on Soompi, Hyorin is being criticized as most viewers believe that her comment regarding the stereotype that the rapper in a group is usually the one who cannot sing, was aimed specifically at the EXO member.
However, Hyorin, on her official Instagram account, claimed that the comment in itself had not been intended to target anyone, especially Chanyeol, and claimed to be the victim of the way that her interview had been edited before the final cut was aired.
