The teams are tasked to choose an inspiration for their third primate character: squirrel monkey, brown lemur, white-faced capuchin, mandrill or olive baboon. Team Laura chooses squirrel monkey; Team Anthony, mandrill; and Team Rayce, white-faced capuchin.
After the design phase, teams go to the sculpting phase. Kelly rushed to finish mixing plaster for the alien warrior face that it becomes too thick. She fears that it will crack. Ben scolds her because of her clumsiness. Kelly gets angrier.
To ease the stress from a day’s work, the coaches treat the contestants to a barbecue party.
On the third day, teams are focused on finishing their sculptures. Laura is worried that Gregory still has a lot to do to make the perfect monkey face.
For the application phase, the models arrive. Teams start to assemble the pieces on their models.
It is time for judging. The judges are Glenn Hetrick, Ve Neill, Neville Page and Rick Baker. After the presentation, the judges evaluate the creatures in detail. Team Royce created an insect-like alien. The judges love its detail. Rick wants more color tones, but he thinks it is impressive overall.
Team Anthony made technologically-advanced aliens. Ve is not excited with the painting and design. Rick says the large hands are distracting. Glenn says the overall design lacks in detail.
Team Laura’s story about their alien creation is it was living in a moist climate. Their skin cracked when they were exposed to a foreign climate. The judges think it is a beautiful sculpture. Rick commends the paint job. Ve likes the luminous quality of the skin.
For the primate creatures, Team Rayce created a strong and wise empress. Ve says it is “pretty damn fabulous.” Rick says the color choices are beautiful.
For Team Laura, their primate leader has battle scars. Glenn thinks it has an “inarticulate” design. He says it does not look like a monkey. The judges think it looks more like a turtle because it has no teeth.
The best creatures are the arachnid and primate creatures from Team Rayce and Team Laura’s aliens. The worst are the aliens from Team Anthony and Team Laura’s primate.
Team Rayce wins the challenge. Logan wins in the individual competition. He is excited because he says his skills are self-taught.
The worst contestants are Gregory, Kelly and Ben. In the end, Gregory is eliminated.
