FANS FUMES AS AMANDA VANSTONE LASHES OUT NASTY COMMENTS ON THE DWTS WINNER BINDI IRWIN
As the news of the winners of US Dancing with the Stars Season 21 was announced on 24th November 2015, audiences and fans of the show were happy to see their favorite couple Bindi Irwin and her partner Derek win the show and showered them with congratulations and best wishes messages. However, it seems that there is someone who is not happy with the win. Read on to find more about this.
On Wednesday night, a day after the win was announced, Amanda Vanstone who was invited as the guest of the show on Channel Nine lashed out at Irwin after her win saying the death of her father does not make her a special participant on the dance show. When the host of the show Karl Stefanovic expressed his happiness at her win and congratulated her, Vanstone criticized her saying, “Give me a break. She’s not the only kid whose father has died. My father died when I was young; it happens to lots of kids”. She also said “It doesn’t make her special. How many years ago did her father die?”
Bindi was a little girl and all of 8 years when her father died. He was killed while filming a documentary film underwater as a stingray barb had pierced his chest while shooting. The incident which happened in the year 2006 left every one shocked and saddened by the premature demise of the famous Crocodile Hunter. She dedicated the last performance of the show to her dad whom she believes to be her strength. The dance earned her and Derek a perfect score of 30 on the final day due to the flawless performance.
The comment by the former Liberal immigration minister, invited criticism not only from fans from all over the world but was also criticized by fellow panel members who thought it was nasty and mean on her part to say such things about the winner who had won everyone’s heart with her performance this season. Karl Stefanovic who wanted to end the show on a light note added that audience may not see Ms Vanstone in next year’s show of US Dancing with the Stars.
