‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ will have a quartet of heroes
Any Potterhead will know by now that “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will star Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist-slash-author Newt Scamander. But it seems he is not the only hero of the film and that there will be three more lead characters to be featured in the Harry Potter prequel.
In the Entertainment Weekly cover story last week, they ran a full coverage of the anticipated Harry Potter prequel, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Featuring Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander in the cover, the inside pages also included more images of the film on set and of the other characters in the film. And Redmayne says the other characters in the gallery are actually very central to the story.
The 33-year old English actor tells Entertainment Weekly, “The assumption is Newt’s front and centre, but it’s a quartet. So that feels like it slightly takes the [pressure] off. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself.”
In a character descriptions article by Entertainment Weekly, Scamander was surrounded by Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), who looks like a potential love interest for the magizoologist, Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol), and Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler). These three make up the quartet that Redmayne was talking about.
Fogler’s Jacob Kowalski is definitely of note here as he is the very first Muggle main character in all Harry Potter franchise. A factory worker-slash-baker, he meets Newt Scamander and gets acquainted with the wizarding world.
Tina and Queenie are sisters and are people of magic. Tina works for the Magical Congress of the United States and is assigned in a post that does not give her abilities justice. Queenie, on the other hand, is versed at Legilimency.
Get to know all these new Harry Potter universe heroes when “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” rolls out to theatres on Nov. 18, 2016.
