‘Fast and Furious 8’ Movie Moves On Without Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner; Release Date Set To 2017

There was no doubt at the moment when “Furious 7” was declared as a big winner at the box office worldwide that a sequel would be made. Producer and lead of the movie Vin Diesel officially announced the release date for the movie’s sequel to be April 172017. The movie, which is said to have a completely new storyline, has some new updates revealed about it.

According to Christian Post, some minor modifications have been made to the storyline and that includes Kurt Russell’s character Mr. Nobody, who was last seen in the previous installment. It is being said that the upcoming movie will delve more into the character, which means he will have a vital role to play in it.

The movie is also to have a new director who will lend a new perspective to the movie. Justin Lin’s name has been coming out as the top contender for the role. If he indeed will be directing this movie, then this won’t be the first time he will be bringing his expertise to the franchise. With Paul Walker’s unfortunate incident, his character Brian O’Conner was shown going down his own way, which also acted as a tribute to the late actor for everything wonderful he brought to the franchise with his character. This also means the makers will not be using his CGI version to show him in the movie.

Brian going down his own way meant he was looking to settle down with Dom’s sister Mia in the movie. With him gone, the new installment will probably look into introducing new characters and play around with available characters from the older slot. This means the upcoming installment could possibly boast of a mix of old and new characters. With that happening, it only gives rise to more possibilities.

Dom, Letty, Tej, Roman and Luke Hobbs from the current team will most probably reprise their roles. Jason Statham and Eva Mendes are also confirmed to return to the franchise. Some time back Dame Helen Mirren’s name was also hinted, she would definitely add an extra ounce of glamour and her incredible talent in the franchise.

Producer Neal Moritz confirmed that till the time a screenplay is ready, no other details will be looked at and as soon as they have everything in order, an official announcement will be made.
