‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Cast Jamie Dornan And Dakota Johnson Will Not Reprise Roles In ‘Grey’ Movie Spin-Off
“Fifty Shades of Grey” that went on to become one of the most successful film of the year and is currently the third highest grossing films of this year already has a trilogy in the works. The second movie, “Fifty Shades Darker” has released a trailer a few months back that showed the protagonist Christian Grey donning a black mask. Several reports hint that the second installment in the trilogy will be even bigger and better than the first one.
According to Yahoo! Movies, it is being reported that author of the Fifty Shades books E L James recently announced that she will be working on a spin-off book from the trilogy that will be titled “Grey.” The new novel will look deeper into the story from Christian Grey’s perspective. According to reports since Universal controls the characters of the franchise, there is a possibility that they also own the rights to adapt the book and bring it on the silver screen.
However, according to the website’s sources, neither Jamie Dornan who plays Christian Grey nor Dakota Johnson who plays Anastasia Steele have been approached to star in the spin-off and have just the trilogy for which they are committed to shoot. Their involvement in the spin-off movie will obviously be the least of possibilities since no one was aware that a fourth book was being written and still the future of a fourth movie showing up is minimal.
The movie that centers around billionaire Christian Grey and literature student Anastasia Steele was a magnanimous hit at the box office which propelled the careers of both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and turned them into stars overnight. Both the second and third instalment of the movie will be releasing on February 10, 2017 and February 9, 2018 respectively.
