‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Update: Movie Has No Casting Director?
“Fifty Shades Darker,” sequel to erotic saga “Fifty Shades of Grey” is really under nobody’s helm. The success and box-office collection by first installment of “Fifty Shades” now just seems like a ‘luck by chance’ hit. “Fifty Shades Darker” is really hyped about and yet nothing is even close to starting!
“Fifty Shades Darker” might have its Anastasia Steel [Dakota Johnson] and Christian Grey [Jamie Dornan] but the key characters of the new upcoming sequel are nowhere near casting. The roles of obsessive boss Jack Hyde, submissive Leila Williams and Mrs Robinson are not yet on casting schedule.
Producer Dana Brunetti cleared the air surrounding so much hype and said, “We’re nowhere near casting. We haven’t gotten into anything like that. We don’t even have a casting director on it yet!”
Not only “Fifty Shades Darker” is without casting director but also Dana Brunetti seemed surprised as to how something written on a blog caught so much attention of paparazzi, while referring to rumors of Henry Cavill being cast as Jack Hyde.
“It’s so insane. Somebody posts something on some obscure blog and then it gets picked up by something a little less obscure and it keeps going. Fans are starting the news by saying things like [the Cavill casting]”, added Brunetti, as reported by E! Online.
MoviePilot also recently, exclaimed at the fact that EL James handling the entire franchise alone. The reports read that James’ husband Niall Leonard has only few previous TV writing experience, so, will he be able to pull a “Gone Girl” like script with writing?
There are many creative differences, and budget for the upcoming sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey” is also in jeopardy. “House of Cards” director James Foley is set to direct “Fifty Shades Darker.” It is to release on February 10, 2017.
