‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Sequel Book Breaks Sales Records In UK

EL James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel books recently broke sales records in UK in the adult books category.

In a recent report from The Guardian, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel book has already sold 385,972 copies in print while 385,972 were sold for ebooks copies, summing to a total of 647,401.


As for the United States, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel book 1 million copies in United States which included the paperback, ebook and audiobook.

According to its author, this sequel is her response to the thousands of avid followers of the series who were asking about it.

Vintage publisher said Anne Messitte, via Publisher’s Weekly, said that the book’s sales records prove that its buyers have so much engagement and passion on their book.

The new spin-off of the British writer’s story now exposes the point of view of Christian Grey, the male protagonist of the hit “Fifty Shades of Grey” book.

She noted, “Christian’s side of the story is proving to be irresistible.”

Susan Sandon, managing director for Cornerstone, the publisher of the hit adult book series, said that their company has received much support.

“The excitement and enthusiasm that Grey’s publication has generated is totally irresistible and I am delighted with these early results,” she said.

With this, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel book is now being considered as the fastest-selling novels in UK, with Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” gaining the 2nd spot.

EL James’ “Fifty Shades” trilogy is the story of a shy girl named Anastasia Steele who shares her romance with the businessman and bachelor Christian Grey.


The books include Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed which have sold over 125 million copies worldwide, BBC said.

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” has also been adapted in motion picture starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
